We believe in robots as a new and powerful design tool for designers to advance creative uses of technology. We are not only developing tools but a full structural method of thinking and visioning design. Technology is transforming the world and the industrial age has come to an end, we reject mass production and we want to reinterpret robotic in a more human and sensitive way. A full access to technology is changing the designers approach on the project, new possibilities are rising up and robots must be our new creative tools.
This is a short documentary about our experience during the Maker Faire Rome 2016. We were invited to officially present our research project robotrip and for the occasion we set up an installation which aims to show to visitors some live performance and all the potential of digital fabrication applied to post industrial design canons. Big scale[…]
This workshop is a part of the research project Robotrip with a specific focus on the generation of 3d geometries through Rhinoceros + Grasshopper and the live execution by the anthropomorphic KUKA robot Kr16 for creating generative three-dimensional artistic works. The works will be 3d printed in clay through the custom tool made by the[…]
Turning seriality in art and reinterpret robotics making it closer to humans. In a word reframe the industrial production tools in the artistic and artisanal experimentation. This is what Robotrip aims, born by the collaboration between WeMake, Studio Caracol and Eutrolog. As we got to see at Maker Faire Rome, the Robotrip team have rescheduled[…]
We are getting ready for the 2016 edition of the Rome Maker Faire where we are going to announce all the development we have been working on during the last few months, watch the trailer and come to visit us in Rome from the 14th to 16th of october.
Kuka open traces was the first of a series of workshops for designers, makers and artists to present, through an hands-on experience, the research project Robotrip started by the collaboration between Wemake and Caracol Studio. Robotrip is investigating the possibilities given by the union of robotics and open tools, particurally all the possible applications of[…]
From 7 to 9 June we participated in Technology HUB, the event dedicated to innovation and the exchange between companies and professionals, that gathers the most interesting projects and technologies in the Italian market for what concerns 3D printing, additive manufacturing, drones, electronics, robotics and Iot. After introducing Rbtrp in Basel during the first international[…]
Short introduction to our drawing tool for Kuka Kr16.
Following our talk “KUKA follows line – Robotics as new Design Tool”, our Paolo Cassis gave to TagesWoche journalist Philip Vlahos this interview during the conference “Applied Robotics in Art and Design Education” at HyperWerk HGK FHNW in Basel!
